Transform Your Chains
Chains are often associated with bondage and oppression. But did you ever think about how chains are actually a series of unbroken connections?
As we reflect this month on the tragic irony of how chains were used to break generations of families apart, we can be encouraged and empowered by God’s word to transform symbolic chains that separate families today.
Rather than complain about work schedules that limit time together with your family, make your work schedules a subject of prayer. Rather than struggle with being home sick while at school and far away from family and friends, again make this a subject of prayer.
Whatever challenges you are facing, make them a subject of prayer and watch how God will transform your chains to become testimonies of deliverance and prayers of praise to God.
In fact, your relationship with God and others will grow stronger as you become a source of encouragement and support by praying and sharing God’s Word.
The Bible says, “But as many as receive Him (The Word of God), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” [John 1:12 NKJV]
As members of the family of God, try creating family prayer chains to bind your hearts closer to God and one another.
Each family member may contribute to an electronic prayer chain (e.g. send a text message or email with a scripture text and a prayer to a different family member each day or rotate who you are praying for each week).
And remember, “the family that prays together stays together”. So start a family prayer chain and stay connected to God and each other.
