Leadership Laws: The Law of Respect Part 4
Ruth Willingly Follows-Ruth 1:8-18
Gentle and loving Ruth, a Moabite, cared for her mother-in-law Naomi. Ruth willing left her comfort zone and all she knew to travel to foreign Bethlehem. She exemplifies the strength and determination leaders must have to venture out and follow God, even if it means leaving family and friends behind.
Ruth followed the directives of Naomi and eventually married Boaz her kinsman-redeemer. Ruth had no idea of how things would turn out when she clung to Naomi. She simply stepped out in faith.
Naomi prayed that Ruth would be famous for her good deeds, and today many turn to the book of Ruth for memorable lessons on love and faithfulness. As the great-grandmother of King David, the foreigner Ruth found a lasting place in the lineage of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
